A concussion is a type of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) caused by a blow or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body in which the head and brain are caused to move back and forth rapidly.  If you have suffered a concussion and any of the following symptoms of headache, dizziness, irritability, unclear thinking, nausea, blurred vision or fatigue are not improving, you should see your physician.

Concussion with symptoms which continue past 3 weeks are commonly called post concussive syndrome. Concussions are recoverable!!  The problem is that most of us push past symptoms while at work, school, home or play initially and prolong the concussion.  It is important that your employer, case manager, teachers, coaches, family and patient are all on the same page.  Everyone reacts to a concussion differently and heals in their own time.

At Springer Physical Therapy, we utilize special oculomotor, cognitive, executive functioning, vestibular and balance tests to develop a unique program based on your evaluation.  We will work with your physician to create a unique return to work, return to school or return to play program to ensure supervised and successful progress.
